Molly Gordon is set to direct the upcoming film. The story follows two former high school “it girls,” now in their late twenties and at rock bottom. When they realize they weren’t invited to their 10-year reunion, they decide to crash it.
The newly announced cast includes Jeremy Allen White, Emma Mackey, Laura Dern, Simone Ashley, and Molly Gordon herself.
Elizabeth Olsen was originally attached to star as one of the “it girls,” but for unknown reasons, she stepped away from the project. In my opinion, this may have been a mistake (Read more to understand). Considering the direction of her recent career, this could have been a strong opportunity for her. Now, with so many major names joining the film, it seems like she missed the chance to be part of what could become a high-profile project.
As of now, there’s no official word on when filming will begin, but given how quickly things are progressing, production is likely to start soon.
