Lili Reinhart’s fans have been keeping an eye on this film ever since she teased that she got naked in it. But is that really the case?
In a new interview with Cosmopolitan, she once again talked about the film’s sex and nudity, and I’m disappointed by what she revealed.
She confirmed that she filmed a sex scene featuring a “blink-and-you’ll-miss-it” nipple slip in the dark. She also revealed that the sex scene is much shorter than it is in the book.
Director Clare Scanlon chose to tone down the sexual content so it would better fit the tone of the film. Lili also said the scene was shot with the female gaze in mind rather than the male gaze.
This pretty much confirms that the film is going to disappoint fans expecting a more faithful adaptation. In a previous interview, Lili also teased a breast-sucking scene, saying they kept it in for the audience, but it will mostly take place in the dark.
In the book, the sex scene is much more explicit, featuring oral sex and full-frontal nudity. There was never much chance they would adapt everything, but it now looks like they’ve cut most of the steamy moments.
