So, Verity has finally been released in HD, and now everyone can see how bad this film really is. Sure, the film has done great at the box office, thanks to that kissing scene between Dakota Johnson and Anne Hathaway, which they came up with on the spot. It was also heavily promoted on social media, so people really fell for it, thinking there would be full-on lesbian scenes. But many were disappointed with the sexual content and nudity in the film.
Book readers were especially disappointed because there are some really explicit scenes in the book. Sure, not all of them can be included in a mainstream film, but they should’ve at least given us a proper sex scene with proper nudity.
Anne Hathaway’s sexual content includes implied sex, too much focus on her face, an obscured shower scene, and her entire body being blocked by male butt cheeks during sex.
Dakota Johnson at least showed some nipples, but her sex scenes aren’t that good. It’s the same close-up shots, no nudity during the sex scenes, and an obscured shower scene.
