Leighton Meester is set to star in an upcoming Netflix book adaptation titled Guarding Stars.
The story follows Hannah Brooks, a highly trained executive protection agent who is excellent at her job—but terrible at opening up emotionally. After a personal breakup and her mother’s death, Hannah is assigned a new client: Jack Stapleton, a famous movie star who has received a credible death threat.
To avoid media attention and keep Jack safe while he visits his family’s Texas ranch, the agency comes up with a cover story: Hannah will pose as Jack’s girlfriend.
While there’s not much nudity or sexual content in the book, Netflix promises that the adaptation will be sexy. They also say they are taking inspiration from the novel, and the story will be different.
