Blade Runner 2099 Might End Up Disappointing with Sex and Nudity

So, the full trailer for Blade Runner 2099 is out. The series premieres on November 25 on Prime Video, starring Hunter Schafer as a woman pretending to be a replicant and Michelle Yeoh as a replicant.

The series takes place after the 2017 Ryan Gosling film. Replicants have won the uprising and now hold the power. Hunter Schafer’s Cora and Michelle Yeoh’s Olwen join forces to find missing replicants and uncover a bigger conspiracy.

The trailer was shown at NYCC, and the panel discussed several things about the series, though no one confirmed any sex or nudity. So far, there has been nothing on the sexual side.

Showrunner Silka Luisa teased a red-light district, but instead of selling sex, it sells human experiences to replicants.

The trailer does feature some partial nudity from a replicant emerging from an egg, but that’s the extent of what we see in terms of sexual content and nudity. Surprisingly, such content is largely missing from the trailer and other promotional material, but I’m sure we’ll see more in the series.

I’m expecting scenes featuring naked holograms, humans engaging in prostitution since replicants now hold power, and some non-sexual nudity here and there. However, I don’t think this series will focus heavily on sex and nudity.
