Wuthering Heights was released on Valentine’s Day, and everyone is going nuts on social media, posting its love scenes in which Margot Robbie and other actresses share romantic moments. However, no female character fully undresses, and many fans are angry about it. Lots of people are calling it out, saying there weren’t enough sex scenes in the film.
Margot Robbie indulges in some romantic scenes, showing plenty of neckline, though she remains clothed throughout. If you’re mad about it, you shouldn’t be — and here’s why.
In the novel the movie is based on, there are many things that director Emerald Fennell changed. For example, some character details differ from the original book. Catherine was younger in the novel, while Margot is 35 in the film adaptation.
There is also no explicit sex described in the novel, and the film clearly added much more. The BDSM scene, the rain-soaked makeout sessions, and other moments are completely original and not from the source material.
So if you’re upset about the lack of explicit content, you shouldn’t be — because the source material doesn’t even include this much.
