Filming for the highly anticipated sci-fi series has been completed in Tokyo. The show is based on the novel of the same name, which, I must say, is very promising.
The story follows a hacker named Case who lives in the slums. He used to work for an agency that could connect its operatives’ brains to a matrix to retrieve data from criminals, but he got caught being greedy, so his boss destroyed his nervous system, making it impossible for him to hack again.
One day, he is hired by a cyborg named Molly, who is also very beautiful. She fixes his brain so he can hack again, but only if he joins her crew to help with a dangerous job.
The characters, world-building, and sexual themes are all great in the novel, and I believe Apple TV will do a great job adapting it.
Emma Laird is playing Molly, and her character has a good amount of nudity and sexual content in the book. There are also other characters who appear naked, as well as random cyborgs engaging in sexual activity in clubs.
The book also contains a taboo scene in which a man has sex with his sister’s clone, which would be crazy if it gets adapted.
Emma Laird recently said in an interview that her costume is sexy and that the series accurately adapts the book, so I’d like to believe we’ll see some of those scenes in the show.
Currently, there is no release date, but it is expected to premiere in 2026.
