Anna Kendrick will direct The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo series, based on a novel of the same name.
The adaptation was first announced back in 2022, and then over the years many directors joined and then left the project. There were rumors of many actresses joining the project, but all of it was fake.
This is a big deal because the novel follows Evelyn Hugo, an old Hollywood star who tells a reporter her story in Hollywood and reveals scandals, marriages, sexual experiences, and more.
Evelyn is portrayed as a beautiful woman with an amazing figure. She uses sex and her body to climb the ladder. Over the years, she marries 7 men and also has a lesbian relationship with a woman named Celia.
The novel describes Evelyn’s body in detail during sex scenes. There’s a good amount of nudity and sex in interesting locations, such as bathroom sex with Celia.
The good news is, the author of this novel, Jenkins Reid, is an executive producer on the series, so I am hoping she’ll make sure all the sex and nudity gets adapted.
It will be interesting to see who gets cast as Evelyn, but currently I’m hoping Anna Kendrick stays as the director because previous directors left the project within a few months of joining. So let’s just hope for now that this series gets made.
