The 2000s and the early 2010s were the peak years for comedy films. Every year, we got tons of comedies that made us laugh with their humor and adult jokes while also entertaining us with some great nudity and hot scenes.
For over a decade now, Hollywood has been trying to recreate that era but hasn’t been successful so far. In 2026, they are trying once again with sequels to some of the comedies we loved. Will they be successful? Will they include the same kind of humor and nudity as the originals?
I don’t have the answers to those questions yet, but let’s take a look at what Hollywood has been working on.
(1) Scary Movie 6
After nearly 13 years, Scary Movie has returned and has already been released. It failed to recreate the humor and jokes of the earlier films, but it succeeds when it comes to nudity. There’s a bare butt shot of Regina Hall and Anna Faris at the end of the film, but I’m not sure whether they used body doubles or did the shot themselves.
(2) Super Troopers 3
The upcoming sequel returns after 8 years and is releasing in theaters on August 7. The first film was the best, the second was decent, and the third looks totally unhinged with its Indian wedding plot, nudity, strippers, boners, snakes, and a whole lot of chaos.
Yes, the trailer does feature brief nudity, and it looks like the film will have a lot more.
(3) American Pie 5
The world-famous adult comedy franchise will return, although there’s no expected release year yet. The script is ready, the cast is ready, but there are some behind-the-scenes issues preventing Universal from giving the project the green light so production can begin.
The film will take place in Vegas as the original group gets into all kinds of funny, sexy, and disgusting trouble.
(4) 24 Jump Street
The best modern comedy returns with a third film. The first was 21 Jump Street, the second was 22 Jump Street, and they skipped 23 to move straight to 24 Jump Street, which is currently in development starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum.
The previous two films didn’t have nudity, but they did have hot scenes, plenty of comedy, action, and were simply fun movies to watch, much like The Hangover.
(5) Grown Ups 3
After 13 years, Adam Sandler has finally decided to bring back Grown Ups. The franchise hasn’t featured nudity so far, but it has had a good amount of cleavage, bikinis, and humor. And yes, Salma Hayek is coming back, so we can be sure there will be plenty of cleavage.
The third film will follow the group as they try to have fun in Europe during the 1960s. Filming is set to begin in July.
Final Thoughts
So there you have it. These are the adult comedies you need to keep an eye on. It may not be a huge lineup, but I’m sure that if some of them become successful, more studios will either bring back classic franchises or create new ones.
The problem is that the humor just doesn’t hit the same anymore. While it will be nostalgic to watch these films, I’m not sure they’ll be able to match the older classics.
