The film starring Emily Alyn Lind, Madelaine Petsch, Sadie Stanley, and Ashley Benson is about two young women who run away to become big stars in Hollywood but end up in the sex work industry.
Everyone was expecting some good amount of nudity and sex from the film, but the director just gave us some disappointing news ahead of the premiere on August 14th.
She said the film contains sex scenes, but she deliberately presented them from a female perspective, focusing on the women’s experiences rather than male gratification.
There’s nudity, but she avoided objectification. In old films, nudity was often presented for men, with female bodies shown explicitly and framed in ways that men would find attractive. But that’s not the intention of this film. Even with the nudity, she wanted to avoid objectifying the female body.
So yeah, while we might see the main characters naked, I doubt it will be in good lighting or with flattering framing.
