Will Gluck is the director of Monica Barbaro’s film One Night Only, which follows her character in a fictional world where only one day is allowed for people to have sex with others outside of marriage. She spends her day and night looking for someone to have sex with, but finds true love in the process.
In an interview, Gluck revealed that he shot a lot of nudity and sex for this film, but while editing, he came across data suggesting that Gen Z doesn’t like sex in films, so he decided to cut all of it. He even revealed what kind of scenes he cut: random people having naked sex on the streets, Monica Barbaro having raunchy sex in a car while real people stopped to watch, and lots of sex everywhere.
He cut all of it, and now the final film, which was released in theaters, does not contain any nudity or good sex scenes. There is a sex scene with Monica Barbaro, but it is basically PG-13 with male nudity and hand bra from Monica.
These directors should be banned from filmmaking for making such stupid decisions. Recently, People We Meet on Vacation director Brett Haley did something similar with this Netflix movie, in which he removed a very raunchy scene involving Emily Bader.
These mainstream outlets and directors claim that Gen Z hates sex without any proper data to promote their narrative.
Honestly, this makes me so angry at Hollywood. They keep doing this over and over again: they film sex scenes with nudity, and then remove them.
