After 20 years, Zack Snyder is returning to 300 with a prequel series. The 2006 film was a massive success. The sequel, released in 2014, was not directed by him and was not a critical success.
I am really excited about this because, while Zack did not say much about the prequel, he confirmed that it is in the works and compared the prequel to Game of Thrones. And you know what Game of Thrones is famous for? Big set pieces, a huge world, battles, and, of course, sex and nudity. Zack also doesn’t think twice about adding nudity to his projects.
No doubt, if he makes this prequel series specifically for an adult male audience, it could be a huge success. 300 was a massive hit for its masculine themes, blood, battles, and speeches that make anyone want to grab their shield and fight.
But at the moment, the series is years away from a first look or teaser, so hopefully the wheels turn fast on this one.
