Blu-rays are becoming more and more rare these days as streaming services have replaced them. Blu-rays were most popular in the ’90s and 2000s, when movies used to release behind-the-scenes footage, extended sex and nudity scenes, and material that didn’t make it into the theatrical cut.
Back when Hollywood used to go all out, there were many nude and sex scenes in films that were cut from the theatrical release but later included on Blu-ray. In modern times, however, Hollywood doesn’t film many explicit or extended sex scenes, so there isn’t much additional material to release on Blu-ray.
