The Shocking Downfall of Elizabeth Olsen: Nobody Wants to Work With Her Anymore

Elizabeth Olsen was once an A-list Hollywood actress, but now because of her poor choice in projects, it has left her with a spiraling career where she can’t get financing for her movies. No major film studios are working with her, and now she reportedly wants to go back to Marvel to play Scarlet Witch.

Back when she was a prominent character in the MCU and couldn’t do other movies because she had to commit to Marvel, she hated that she couldn’t show her acting chops in other projects. After Multiverse of Madness in 2022, when her character died, she was finally free and she openly expressed excitement about signing new projects.

She did Love & Death for HBO. It was a decent show, and she showed she can act—not just move her fingers at imaginary things to throw them and fight aliens.

In the show, she made a huge impact on Marvel fans. Not only did she act well, but she also showed skin and had love scenes (though mostly covered). Still, her fans loved that she was doing mature roles and finally showing her body. So it was a great start after MCU.

Then for some reason, she did an indie movie called His Three Daughters, which didn’t make much noise.

Then after two whole years, her sci-fi indie movie The Assessment with Alicia Vikander finally released publicly. Again, no skin from her—just one tame love scene and a one-second brief kiss with Alicia.

The movie didn’t even make $300,000 in its limited theatrical release.

Her most recent movie, Eternity, released in theaters on November 26. It has only made $5 million in eight days. On top of that, it’s rated PG-13, there’s no substance in the movie, and barely anyone talked about it or watched it.

It is not looking good for her at all. She delivered multiple disappointing projects, and I think it’s now clear she is not a box-office draw. People won’t go out to see her movies, and something really needs to change in her career because what she’s doing now isn’t enough for her to stay relevant like she was during her prime MCU days.

Keep reading—it gets worse:

Her upcoming projects include: Seven Sisters, Once There Were Wolves, Panic Carefully, and Flesh of the Gods.

Seven Sisters began filming in March for the pilot and is still waiting to be greenlit for a full series.

Panic Carefully has wrapped production, also starring Julia Roberts, but no one knows anything about it. There’s no real plot or details publicly available. It’s currently in post-production and rumored to be about the hunt for a cyber-terrorist. “BORING.”

Once There Were Wolves was announced in mid-2024, and it’s almost 2026 with zero updates. Its future is uncertain and reportedly shelved by Apple.

Love Child was announced in February 2024. The plot is interesting, but since then there has been no update—just that the film didn’t get financing.

Flesh of the Gods is the one movie I’m actually excited for. It also stars Kristen Stewart and Oscar Isaac as a married couple. Elizabeth Olsen plays a vampire who seduces them and takes them on an erotic adventure in the city.
The premise is dripping with erotic scenes, but today, as of this writing, news came out that the movie is struggling to find financing.

So now, this is the status of her future projects—and she’s aware of it. Recently she even showed interest in returning to the MCU. She reportedly regrets investing in indie films like His Three Daughters and The Assessment, which negatively impacted her career to the point that her movies can’t find financing.

This really shows how her career is struggling behind the scenes.

How To Fix It:

I’m no expert in moviemaking, but I know the audience. Her audience doesn’t want her playing sad or clean roles in PG-13 movies. They want her in erotic thrillers, where she plays an anti-hero. Flesh of the Gods is the perfect movie, and I can guarantee that if it gets made, it will do good numbers at the box office.

Fans want to see her in movies where she’s wild, doing intense love scenes. Her recent flops prove she needs to change her career trajectory a lot.

Examples?
Nicole Kidman made a comeback showing skin. Emma Stone made a massive comeback doing borderline Corn scenes. Jennifer Lawrence also did bold content and saw attention again. Elizabeth Olsen needs to understand this: she needs a powerful movie with genuine sexual energy, real skin show, and a strong plot. Then everything will go back on track.

I really don’t want her going back to MCU. MCU is dead, the decade has changed, and so has the audience. I hope she takes this seriously because I don’t want to see her disappear from screens for years.
