Scarlett Johansson’s upcoming horror film is shaping up to be one of the biggest horror films in years. The cast is stacked, with Scarlett playing an NYPD homicide detective, Julie Miller, who is also a single mother. She apprehends Father Sunday, a serial killer who murders his victims in gruesome ways. She witnesses his execution, but the killings don’t stop. So, along with her colleague Gina Restrepo (Sasha Calle), she investigates the murders, which lead them toward an evil that may not be human.

Also in the cast are Diane Lane, who plays Julie’s mother, Carla Gugino, and Kate Siegel, whose roles have not yet been confirmed.
So, will this film include nudity or sex?
I’m pretty sure we won’t see any sex scenes in this film, though nudity is definitely a possibility. Among the six Exorcist films, two have featured breast exposure, so the franchise does have a history of nudity. However, Mike Flanagan, who specializes in horror films, has included confirmed female nudity in only one of his eight feature films, so that’s a negative sign.
But that doesn’t mean nudity won’t happen. Among the main cast members, Kate Siegel has made it clear in a recent interview that she doesn’t do sex scenes or nudity, so she’s pretty much out of the equation.
What I think is that none of the main cast members will get naked. Instead, the nudity might come from one of the victims. Flanagan has confirmed that Father Sunday stages murders resembling the brutal deaths of Catholic saints. According to Catholic tradition, Saint Agatha was tortured and had her breasts removed, and she has been depicted stripped to the waist in religious paintings. So, if the film recreates her martyrdom, that could be our strongest possibility for nudity right now, and it certainly wouldn’t be pleasant to watch.
There are also prosthetic makeup artists mentioned in the film’s credits, which could support this theory. I think there’s a possibility that the nudity might come from scenes involving Father Sunday torturing and murdering women, potentially recreating gruesome acts such as the removal of breasts. However, none of that has been confirmed.
That said, I also wouldn’t rule out a shower scene involving Scarlett Johansson, which is a fairly common horror-film trope. But currently, I have no evidence suggesting that such a scene exists.
