Imperfect Women is an eight-episode psychological thriller from Apple TV+, starring Elisabeth Moss, Kate Mara, and Kerry Washington.

The series is based on the novel of the same name.
The plot follows Nancy, a beautiful and wealthy woman with a seemingly perfect life, who is murdered — leaving behind her husband, daughter, two best friends (Eleanor and Mary), and a secret lover whose identity remains unknown. As the police investigation stalls, Eleanor and Mary struggle with grief, and dark secrets begin to unravel, revealing how little they truly knew about Nancy, about each other, and even about themselves.

The central question — Who killed Nancy? — drives the narrative, but the focus leans more on the emotional and psychological toll of their choices and relationships. The story dives into themes like guilt, betrayal, motherhood, gender roles, and the compromises women make, often at a heavy personal cost.
The novel explores love, loyalty, jealousy, and rivalry in long-term friendships. Infidelity is a recurring theme, which adds layers to the story and keeps things interesting.
Kate Mara is playing Nancy (the murdered woman), Kerry Washington is taking on the role of Eleanor, and Elisabeth Moss will play Mary.

Nancy is involved in an affair, Mary’s husband is cheating on her, and Eleanor is having an affair with Nancy’s husband.
In the novel, there are no explicit love scenes, and skin show is minimal. Female characters aren’t described in an undressed state, though there are subtle mentions of changing clothes or bathing — it’s all very toned down.

There are also no lesbian scenes involving the main or secondary characters.
Though in the trailer, we have seen love scenes from all three characters.
Don’t expect Apple TV+ to add much skin.
It premieres March 18 on Apple TV+.
