Toronto Film Festival 2026 Lineups: Films Most Likely to Feature Sex and Nudity

Toronto International Film Festival will run from September 10–20, and the world premieres lineup is out. There are lots of films that will premiere during these 10 days, but as always, I have selected only those that suggest they will contain some kind of sexual scenes or nudity. This is not a definitive list. I mentioned these films based on the plot, cast, intimacy coordinators, and other details.

(1) Diary of a Mad Old Man

Plot: The film follows an old man who is recovering from a stroke in the care of his dysfunctional family. While his body is failing him, his sexual desires increase because of the beauty of his daughter-in-law, a dancer with a shady past. She uses him for her own gain.

Bingbing Fan is the leading actress in this, playing the daughter-in-law. She is my favorite Chinese actress and quite beautiful too. She has appeared in many Hollywood films, including The Meg (2018), but she rarely does any kind of sexual scenes.

The film is based on the novel of the same name. In the novel, in exchange for jewelry and other favors that only benefit her, she lets him kiss her and touch her feet. The novel does not contain any kind of sex or nudity scenes, but will the film be a direct adaptation of the novel? I hope not. Scenes like sneaky shower shots and brief nudity might be added, but we have to wait until the world premiere to see.

(2) Misty Green

Plot: Years after her Hollywood breakthrough, a talented actress whose career has stalled fights for her second act.

Anna Kendrick and Catharine Daddario (Alexandra Daddario’s sister) are in this film, but Rosalind Eleazar is playing the lead character. The plot doesn’t really suggest that there will be any sex or nudity in this, but the intimacy coordinator, Jean Franzblau, is attached. She previously worked as the intimacy coordinator for Rebel Moon, Deep Water, and Blonde. All three films contain some really good sex and nudity, and her career as a coordinator is filled with projects that contain full nudity, like The Idol from HBO. So this is the only reason the film is on the list.

Let’s hope we also get something from this, at least from Catharine Daddario.

(3) The Life and Deaths of Wilson Shedd

Plot: A married teacher in an abusive relationship takes a job at a prison and falls for a prisoner.

Amanda Seyfried plays the teacher, and in a recent interview, she described one scene as electrifying, full of tension and excitement. Not that it directly says there’s a sex scene, but chances are we get some scenes from her. She is once again doing nudity in films. She recently stripped down fully naked for The Testament of Ann Lee. Not that it matters for this film, but she is definitely up for nudity if the script requires it.

(4) Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo

Plot: A gambling-addicted Tokyo cop and an FBI agent search for a missing politician’s daughter while a mysterious killer lurks in the criminal underworld, watching their every move.

Starring WWE superstar Liv Morgan and Lily James. This is the third film in the franchise, and the previous ones contain nudity, so it would be weird for this one not to have it.

(5) Everybody Wants to F*** Me

Plot: The film is set in modern-day London and follows a man who has “mastered the disguise of being a perfect man.” His seemingly ideal life takes a bizarre turn when he realizes he is being stalked by numerous women.

Actresses like Mia McKenna-Bruce, Jessica Henwick, and Nadia Parkes are in it, which looks promising on the surface because the title literally suggests every woman wants to f*** him, but currently this is all we have.

(6) Glaxo

Plot: In a provincial town with a Glaxo factory, four friends’ lives unravel after a retired cop and his alluring wife move in. Their arrival triggers passion and vengeance during Argentina’s transformative decades, from the 1950s to the 1980s.

Beautiful Argentine actress Lali Espósito is in it. The film is based on a novel of the same name, and it contains a love triangle, infidelity, and sexual urges, but the novel does not mention explicit sex or nudity. Let’s hope the movie changes that.

(7) The Julia Set

Plot: Julia, a talented mathematician working in a highly competitive academic environment. Pascal, the T.A., recruits her into an elite prep course for the world’s most challenging math competition, the Putnam Exam.

Chase Infiniti and Gillian Anderson are in the film. The only sexual-related thing about this film as of now is that it has two intimacy coordinators, but I doubt there will be nudity in it since both of them have worked on films that feature fully clothed sex scenes.

Final Thoughts:

So these are all the titles that I believe will have sexual content or nudity. The list is promising, and there are some good films that I am excited to review and tell you guys all about. Now we wait for September 10 for TIFF to begin.
